PRACTICAL SHOOTING TRAINING PROGRAM

Theoretical Part

The theoretical part of the training plays a significant role in defining the candidate or group in the initial phase of training. This part подразumes familiarizing the candidate or group with the history of practical shooting, safety culture, laws and regulations, mental and psychological preparation, ballistics, familiarization with firearms and other equipment, the shooting range, and all other parameters necessary for an adequate start of the training.

The theoretical part of the training plays a significant role in defining the candidate or group in the initial phase of the training.

Practical Part – “Dry Fire Training”

“Dry work” refers to practicing fundamental techniques such as stance, grip, sight alignment, breathing, movement, etc. It is very important that these actions are performed without the use of live fire, so that the candidate can adopt and practice all of the above-defined actions. This is also the most significant part, as there is no moment of discharge, which at this stage significantly interferes with defining movement. In my instructional work, I have concluded that psychological preparation, mental stability, and to a large extent concentration play a crucial role in understanding and accepting manipulative actions, which are later brought to the required level of proficiency through proper training and repetition. It is also very important that in this part of the training the candidate is allowed, within defined parameters, the freedom to develop their own style, which is expected given different body structures, left- or right-handedness, and other elements.

It is very important that these actions are performed without the use of live fire, so that the candidate can adopt and practice all of the above-defined actions.

Practical Part – “Use of Firearms”

The practical part involving the use of firearms is the final stage and verification of the previous training periods. With knowledge of firearms, safety culture, and all other elements from the theoretical part, through practice and movements defined by one’s own style, we are ready to move on to a dynamic and combined concept of practical shooting with the use of firearms. The concept is structured in a logical and organized way so that, under the influence of realistic stress, the candidate reacts appropriately at a given moment. The training is psycho-physically demanding and complex, but through continuous work it guarantees bringing the body to a level of automatism with an element of subconscious reaction, where in essence the candidate improves their way of thinking and manipulation at a given moment.

This training concept, in addition to the competitive aspects of IPSC and IDPA, is also suitable for professional structures such as the Army, Police, security services, and all other structures that are in active contact with firearms.

BASIC TRAINING

Basic firearms handling training means that an individual or group becomes familiar with the Law on Weapons and Ammunition and develops a safety culture as one of the most important segments.

PROGRESSIVE TRAINING

After successfully completing the basic training, an individual or group moves on to the progressive level of training, which involves more complex dynamics and the integration of all elements.

TACTICAL TRAINING

Tactical or Master Training represents the pinnacle of the educational process at the Dejan Vukojević Academy and is intended exclusively for highly trained participants who have completed the previous levels of training. The program integrates advanced tactical concepts, complex scenarios, and decision-making under high pressure, with full application of legal frameworks and the highest safety standards.
